ELLAN BARR was the dam of legendary stallions Senator Barr and Beamington.
ODAY we know the Brunk’s Cotton Hill Farm as the birthplace of some of the most influential Morgans of all time—the Brunk Morgans.

Joseph C. Brunk, the son of founder George Brunk, showed a serious interest in raising horses and purchased the first breeding stock.

J. C. Brunk’s sharp sense for horses led to breeding and acquiring horses such as Senata, Jubilee King, Flyhawk, Knox Morgan, Senator Knox, Sentola and Daisy De Jarnette.

FLYHAWK was the best–known stallion and most widely acclaimed of the Brunk horses (1941).

These names are only a few from the long list of influential Brunk sires and dams.

Today “Brunk bred” horse’s names appear on almost every pedigree still being issued to Morgans registered with the American Morgan Horse Association located in Shelburne, VT.

Many of the fine Morgans bred and shown today trace their lineage to the Brunk Morgans. By sharing and preserving the Brunk history, we can continue to inspire the Morgan’s future.
